President Lee Jae-myung departed for Egypt on November 19, local time, after completing a two-night, three-day state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
At around 5 p.m. local time, President Lee boarded Air Force One at Abu Dhabi Royal Airport and departed for Cairo, Egypt.
As President Lee was visiting the UAE as a state guest, a local honor guard was present at the airport. After Air Force One took off, four UAE Air Force fighter jets escorted the aircraft.
At the scene, Acting Ambassador to the UAE Park Jongkyung and his spouse, UAE Korean Association President Jang Gwangdeok, and Kim Gwi-hyun, President of the National Unification Advisory Council's UAE Chapter, saw off President Lee and the First Lady. From the UAE side, Minister of State Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Saeed Al Hajeri, and UAE Ambassador to Korea Abdullah Al Nuaimi were present.
Upon arriving in Egypt on November 20, President Lee is scheduled to attend an official welcoming ceremony, hold a Korea-Egypt summit and official luncheon, deliver a speech at Cairo University, and meet with overseas Koreans.
