[Bitcoin Now] Oh Kyungseok, CEO of Dunamu: "Digital Assets Are Leading the Change... We Must Consider How to Leverage Them"

Oh Kyungseok, CEO of Dunamu, made this statement during his opening address at the virtual asset policy conference "D-CON 2025," held on the afternoon of November 19 at the Fairmont Ambassador Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. He said, "It is time to once again employ the successful formula of 'industrial structure transformation.'"

He identified virtual assets as a new growth engine for domestic industry. CEO Oh emphasized, "The history of Korea's industrial development is a history of generational change in growth engines," adding, "We are once again at a turning point, and digital assets are one of the main drivers of this transformation."

He continued, "The digital asset revolution is redefining how finance operates, through payment and settlement innovation brought by stablecoins, the digital transformation of capital markets via asset tokenization, and changes in investment strategies using digital assets." He further highlighted, "Amid these trends, traditional financial hubs such as the United States, Singapore, and Hong Kong have declared their ambition to become digital asset hubs as a national agenda."

He added, "Upbit carries the responsibility of being Korea's leading digital asset company," and stated, "We are making various efforts to grow beyond a digital asset exchange and become a blockchain infrastructure company that leads the future of finance."

Dunamu, the operator of the Upbit virtual asset exchange, has been hosting this policy seminar since 2023 to promote the sound development of the virtual asset industry. This year's conference was held under the theme "Next Korea, K-Digital Asset." Both ruling and opposition politicians, as well as virtual asset experts, participated in the event.
