The evaluation team first toured the Sinwon Water Purification Plant, which was completed in June, and received an explanation about its operational system and overall management. The Sinwon Water Purification Plant can supply approximately 11,000 tons of tap water per day. Currently, through a water system conversion, it is providing a stable water supply to the eastern area of Yangseo-myeon, Okcheon-myeon, and parts of Yangpyeong-eup. Going forward, it is expected to serve as a key infrastructure to accommodate population growth, including urban development in the Guksu Station area.

Next, the evaluation team visited the Namhangang Terrace, listened to a briefing on the facility, and walked around the site, discussing strategies to revitalize tourism by utilizing the Namhangang River’s natural environment. The Namhangang Terrace, which features a 1.1 km-long riverside walking trail, is equipped with nighttime landscape lighting, benches, and street trees. As a central space connecting the Y-shaped suspension bridge in Mulan Gae Neighborhood Park and Galsan Park in the urban area, year-end events are currently being planned there.

The evaluation team also visited the Yangpyeong Sports Center, which is scheduled for completion in November, to inspect the facilities, including the basement swimming pool and the two-story gymnasium, and received a briefing on safety and operational plans. In particular, with the center’s opening scheduled for March next year, the team offered various suggestions from the user’s perspective and discussed directions for improvement.

Kim Dae-su, head of the Pledge Project Implementation Evaluation Team, said, “By touring the sites, I was able to directly experience the changes and efforts brought about by the pledges, and I was deeply impressed by Yangpyeong’s continued development each year. I expect that the facilities we visited today will be used beneficially by residents and become spaces that further enhance the appeal of Yangpyeong in everyday life.”

Yangpyeong County Governor Jeon Jinseon stated, “I would like to express my deep gratitude to the members of the Pledge Implementation Evaluation Team for serving as both partners and fair evaluators of the 8th term administration. The projects promoted with precious budget resources are all part of our commitment to keeping our promises to the residents, so I ask for your bold suggestions regarding the pledges. Moving forward, I will do my utmost to enhance the implementation of the remaining pledges to make Yangpyeong an even more attractive place where people and nature can thrive together.”
