The School of Advanced Convergence consists of the Engineering Interdisciplinary Major and the Nano Interdisciplinary Major. Students in the Engineering Interdisciplinary Major will visit Hong Kong Science Park, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the Huawei and BYD campuses in Shenzhen, China. Students in the Nano Interdisciplinary Major will experience the latest research and industrial sites in nanotechnology at Nanyang Technological University and Nanofab in Singapore.
As part of the preparation, the Nano Interdisciplinary Major held an English presentation contest in October and an overseas field trip orientation in November. The Engineering Interdisciplinary Major will also finalize its program structure and selection procedures.
Lee Haejun, Dean of the Undergraduate College at Pusan National University, stated, "By providing all applicants with the opportunity to participate in overseas field training, students will be able to develop both interdisciplinary thinking and global competencies. We will continue to actively support students' self-directed learning and international experiences in the future."
This year, the School of Advanced Convergence admitted 115 new students, and plans to expand to 189 students for the 2026 academic year. The school also aims to broaden its academic offerings to four majors: Future Energy, Nano Devices, Optical Mechatronics, and AI Convergence Computational Science.
