In her presentation, Investigator Hwang received praise for analyzing the risks of lithium battery fires based on precise experimental data and for proposing effective suppression strategies.
The topic was considered particularly timely and relevant, given the increasing number of fire incidents involving lithium batteries, and was recognized for its strong potential for practical application in the field.
An official from the Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters emphasized, "Lithium battery fires are extremely difficult to suppress due to thermal runaway and other factors. This research goes beyond academic achievement and represents a practical outcome that can directly contribute to the development of response manuals for fire departments nationwide in the future."
