According to Seogu District on November 19, this inspection was organized to prevent collapse accidents that could occur during demolition work and to avoid damages caused by non-compliance with safety regulations.

The inspection targeted buildings that require a demolition permit under the Building Management Act, specifically those with a total floor area of 500 square meters or more, a height of over 12 meters, or more than three stories.

Seogu District formed a joint public-private inspection team consisting of architects and structural experts from the Regional Building Safety Center. The team focused on checking whether the demolition plan was being implemented, whether protective measures for workers in hazardous operations were in place, and whether safe passageways were secured.

Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seogu District, stated, "This inspection will serve as an opportunity to prevent safety accidents at demolition sites and raise awareness among those involved. We will continue to ensure ongoing management and supervision to build a safe city free from similar disasters."

Meanwhile, under the vision of becoming the 'No. 1 Safe Zone,' Seogu District is carrying out various disaster prevention activities to create a city where all citizens can live with peace of mind. These include operating the Regional Building Safety Center, conducting regular safety inspections of demolition sites, and running a safety advisory group composed of experts.
