Ministry of Land to Hold Briefings for Officials and Residents on Maintenance Project System Reform

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Real Estate Board announced that, starting on the 20th, they will hold workshops for local government officials to explain the policy direction for maintenance projects. Beginning in Seoul, the workshops will be held by region, with sessions in Daegu on the 21st and Daejeon on the 25th.

The workshops will provide explanations on the restructuring of the maintenance project system, which was included in the housing supply expansion plan announced in September. They will also cover support systems to revitalize reconstruction and redevelopment, such as the initial project financing system. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport stated that the workshops aim to strengthen the practical capabilities of local government officials by introducing systems such as public maintenance projects and association operation inspections, while also gathering feedback from the field.

The Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation will provide details on the revised initial project financing system and application procedures. Korea Land and Housing Corporation will introduce the features of public maintenance projects, and the Korea Real Estate Board will present its consulting services for redevelopment and reconstruction projects.

Cho Minwoo, Director of the Housing Maintenance Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "We hope that by strengthening the knowledge and capabilities of both local governments, which have the authority to grant permits, and residents, who implement the projects, maintenance projects will proceed with greater speed."
