"Must-Buy in Korea": 7 Handpicked K-Beauty Items Selected by Vogue

Vogue UK’s Must-Buy Olive Young Shopping List Draws Attention
"Outstanding Value for Money Plus Tax Refund Benefits"

With the global rise of K-beauty fueled by the popularity of K-pop and other aspects of the Korean Wave, the international fashion magazine Vogue has drawn attention by selecting seven "must-buy K-beauty products in Seoul." Based on their own experience shopping at Olive Young stores while staying in Seoul, Vogue carefully curated products that excel in price, performance, and user experience.

"Must-Buy in Korea": 7 Handpicked K-Beauty Items Selected by Vogue At a cosmetics shopping mall in Myeongdong, Seoul, the majority of customers shopping for cosmetics are foreigners.

Recommendations include masks, cleansers, sunscreen, lip products, and concealer

Vogue first highlighted Mediheal's Madecassoside Essential Mask as its top recommendation. The magazine explained, "With 98% high-purity madecassoside, it delivers an immediate soothing effect for skin that has become red and sensitive due to long-haul flights or accumulated fatigue."

A Vogue editor praised the mask, saying, "After using this mask following a long flight, the redness and dryness of my skin noticeably subsided. Redness, dryness, and even breakouts all miraculously disappeared. It truly feels like a gift from above."

The second product mentioned was Round Lab's Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser. Combining glycerin, birch sap, and hyaluronic acid, this gel cleanser "gently removes impurities while leaving the skin even more hydrated after washing," according to Vogue.

Vogue also selected Beauty of Joseon's Relief Sun (Rice + Probiotics) SPF50+. This product is praised for its minimal white cast and excellent moisturizing properties, making it suitable for use as a moisturizer. Vogue noted, "In Korea, sunscreen is used just like skincare."

In the acne patch category, Care Plus's Scar Cover Spot Patch received attention. Despite its small size and affordable price, it is highly effective, making it especially popular among foreign consumers visiting Korea.

For lip masks, Laneige's Lip Sleeping Mask was recommended. Containing vitamin C and coconut oil, Vogue explained that applying it generously before bedtime keeps lips moist and soft by morning.

Peripera's Ink The Velvet Tint was also included. It is described as having a creamy yet soft matte finish, with rich color payoff that makes it perfect for creating the blurred lip style.

Lastly, The Saem's Cover Perfection Tip Concealer made Vogue's list. The magazine praised the concealer for its "dense and smooth texture that provides flawless coverage."

Prices are half those in the UK... plus tax refunds for foreigners

Introducing these seven products, Vogue noted their common feature: a lightweight and hydrating feel. Most of the products are priced between 10,000 and 20,000 won, less than half the price compared to purchasing them in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, foreign travelers can benefit from VAT refunds, making the effective price even lower and providing a significant economic advantage compared to their practicality.

Lastly, Vogue commented, "K-beauty is not just a trend, but a lifestyle," and advised travelers visiting Seoul to "leave room in their luggage and make sure to visit Olive Young."
