Building an Export Ecosystem Connecting Industry, Technology, and Talent
An event was held to simultaneously support mid-sized companies in exports, artificial intelligence (AI) transformation, and talent recruitment.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on November 18 that they hosted the 'Mid-Sized Enterprise Global Connect' at Lotte Hotel World in Seoul. The event was organized as a comprehensive support program for mid-sized companies, encompassing three pillars: exports, AI innovation, and talent. The program included a one-on-one export booster consultation session, export contract and memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, industrial AI forum, and job consultation session.
Global buyers such as Intel (United States, semiconductors), CP Axtra (Thailand, distribution), and Sukanda Djaya (Indonesia, food) participated in the export booster consultation session to discuss export opportunities. KOTRA invited a large number of buyers from Global South regions such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Chile, and Israel to support market diversification. As the global supply chain undergoes restructuring, companies seeking to diversify into markets in Europe, Southeast Asia, and Central and South America continued to apply for consultations. Export contracts and MOUs worth 16.3 million dollars (approximately 23.6 billion won) were signed on-site.
At the 'Industrial AI Forum,' strategies for utilizing AI in industry and approaches to global expansion were discussed. More than 250 AI experts and business leaders attended, sharing achievements in AI adoption in manufacturing, solutions, and healthcare, as well as examples of overseas expansion. In the 'Job Consultation Session,' mid-sized companies in the semiconductor, secondary battery, and advanced mobility sectors sought to recruit talent by holding consultations with more than 250 foreign students and returning professionals. Together with the Seoul Immigration Office and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), a 'Global Talent Attraction Program and Visa Information Session' was also held.
Kang Sangyeop, Vice President of KOTRA and Head of the Small and Medium Enterprise Division, stated, "This event was organized to review the annual export performance of mid-sized companies and to build an export ecosystem that connects industry, technology, and talent. We will do our utmost to support the global growth and sustainability of mid-sized companies."
