NH Nonghyup P&C EVP Youngil Kim Highlights 'K-Agricultural Insurance' at AOA Seminar

NH Nonghyup Property & Casualty Insurance announced on November 18 that Youngil Kim, Executive Vice President of Agricultural Insurance, participated in the "2025 Asia Oceania Association (AOA) Seminar" on the 13th and gave a presentation titled "The Resilience and Future of Korean Agriculture Led by Nonghyup Property & Casualty Insurance."

The AOA Seminar is an international event where 44 member companies from the insurance and agriculture sectors across 10 Asian and Oceanian countries discuss the social roles of cooperative insurance companies. This year, the event was hosted by NH Nonghyup Life Insurance.

Executive Vice President Kim introduced the achievements of agricultural policy insurance in contributing to farm income stability since the introduction of crop disaster insurance in 2001.

He presented a comprehensive agricultural insurance service model unique in Korea, highlighting precise damage assessment based on a nationwide network of over 10,000 loss assessors and integrated data and risk management in collaboration with Nonghyup Agribusiness Group and Nonghyup Bank.

He also outlined directions for climate-adaptive insurance innovation, such as developing regional loss ratio prediction models and utilizing satellite and data-driven precision loss assessments. In addition, he introduced plans to expand insurance participation among vulnerable farmers, including elderly and young farmers, and to promote the international expansion of the Korean agricultural policy insurance model.
