Export Consultations Worth $600,000, MOUs Valued at $830,000, and On-Site Contracts Totaling $1.2 Million Achieved in Hanoi, Vietnam
Beom-In Park, County Governor of Geumsan, stated, "In Hanoi, Vietnam, we introduced a comprehensive model that encompasses both exports and culture for the globalization of Geumsan ginseng." He added, "We will continue overseas marketing and export support initiatives so that the K-INSAM brand from Geumsan can be seen on the streets and at festivals around the world."
Governor Park made these remarks while promoting the K-INSAM brand at the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Street Festival, which was held from November 15 to 16 on My Dinh Street in Hanoi, Vietnam.
On November 14, the day before the festival, the county held an export consultation session at the Grand Plaza Hanoi Hotel. Eleven ginseng product manufacturers from Geumsan and fourteen local Vietnamese buyers participated in one-on-one business meetings.
During this event, active export consultations were conducted for products such as red ginseng concentrate, ginseng extract, ginseng sticks, and ginseng beverages. A total of 66 consultations worth 4.6 million dollars took place, resulting in five memorandums of understanding (MOUs) worth 830,000 dollars and three on-site contracts worth 1.2 million dollars.
From November 15 to 16, at the festival venue, the county operated a total of 13 booths, including the joint promotional booth for the Geumsan K-INSAM Festa, under the theme "Korea-Vietnam Friendship Street Festival with Geumsan K-INSAM." These booths featured experiential promotional events that combined the excellence and culture of Geumsan ginseng.
In addition, Geumsan County, the Vietnamese-Korean Association in Hanoi, the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, and Daejeon MBC signed a four-party memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote the development and export expansion of Geumsan K-INSAM. They agreed to strengthen future cooperation in joint promotion, cultural exchange, and export support.
The booths were operated by the companies that participated in the export consultation session, allowing them to sell and promote their products. The joint promotional booth also showcased flagship products and hosted various events.
Notably, the event went beyond simple product promotion by introducing cultural programs inspired by the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival to the Vietnamese audience, receiving an enthusiastic response from visitors.
The main programs included tastings of ginseng liquor and ginseng fries, a ginseng cooking show with local chefs, ginseng seed selection, fresh ginseng fishing, a ginseng photo experience, and making keyrings featuring dried ginseng and tiger-and-magpie art.
Vietnamese influencers also visited the venue to help raise awareness of the K-INSAM brand.
The county plans to further develop the K-INSAM brand into a global brand that combines culture and experience, and will implement similar global programs in other countries, including those in Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
