Chungnam Development Corporation Wins Korea Energy Awards for Leading Achievements in Renewable Energy

Honored with Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment Award... "Live Together" Zero-Energy Public Housing Sets National Example
65% Energy Self-Sufficiency, ESS Adoption, and RE100 Green Industrial Complex Lead the Way in Carbon-Neutral Management

Chungnam Development Corporation Wins Korea Energy Awards for Leading Achievements in Renewable Energy

Chungnam Development Corporation was recognized for its achievements in leading the transition to renewable energy in the public sector and received the Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment Award at the 2025 Korea Energy Awards.

In particular, the "Chungnam-type Live Together" zero-energy public housing project, which achieved up to 65% energy self-sufficiency, was highly praised as a national model for carbon-neutral residential development.

Chungnam Development Corporation announced on November 17 at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul that it had received the Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment Award at the 2025 Korea Energy Awards, hosted by the Korea Energy Agency, in recognition of its efforts to expand the adoption of renewable energy and contribute to regional carbon neutrality.

The Korea Energy Awards, co-hosted by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and the Korea Energy Agency, are Korea's leading government awards in the energy sector, presented to organizations, companies, and groups that have contributed to improving energy efficiency and expanding the use of renewable energy.

Chungcheongnam-do Development Corporation has led energy transition policies in various areas, including: expanding the application of renewable energy facilities such as solar and geothermal power in public housing; introducing Energy Storage System (ESS) technology at construction sites; producing renewable energy using idle land; and establishing a green industrial complex agreement system to respond to RE100.

In particular, the "Chungnam-type Live Together" project, promoted as part of Chungnam Province's housing policy, is a zero-energy public housing model that achieved up to 65% energy self-sufficiency based on geothermal and solar power systems. It is regarded as a leading success story in achieving carbon neutrality in the public housing sector.

President Kim Byounggeun stated, "This award is the result of our corporation's ongoing efforts in carbon reduction and renewable energy management," adding, "We will continue to lead the region's energy transition by creating eco-friendly residential complexes and realizing low-carbon green cities."
