As Part of the Special Educational Development Zone Project
Targeting 5th and 6th Grade Elementary School Students
Wanju County in North Jeolla Province operated the 'One Day Wanju Five Senses Healing Road' emotional stability healing program for 5th and 6th grade elementary school students on November 12 and 14 as part of its Special Educational Development Zone project.
Wanju County recently operated the "One Day Wanju Five Senses Healing Road" emotional stability healing program for 5th and 6th grade elementary students. Provided by Wanju County
According to the county on the 17th, this program was a university collaboration project linked with Jeonju Kijeon College's Healing Agriculture Department, and was conducted at 'Herbs Farm' and 'Yecheon Healing Stay,' both healing farms in Wanju County.
The program was designed to support students' emotional recovery and enhance their ecological sensitivity through nature-based activities. Going beyond simple experiential programs, its most notable feature was the objective measurement of students' emotional changes by introducing a biometric psychological test (VibraImage) before and after the program.
It is rare in Korea to combine biometric and psychological data with healing agriculture programs for elementary students, and this is being evaluated as an innovative model for quantitatively verifying the effectiveness of such projects.
The program included a variety of nature-based experiences such as forest and garden activities, upcycled flowerpot making, berry dessert making, and garden meditation. Participating students showed improvements in both psychological stability and positive emotions, and these changes were also confirmed through biometric psychological test data.
Jeonju Kijeon College stated, "The healing agriculture model that links Wanju's nine scenic spots and nine specialties with local farms is bringing about positive changes for elementary students. We will continue to expand the Wanju-style convergence model of healing, tourism, and education through systematic verification, including biometric psychological analysis."
County Governor Yoo Heetae said, "This program combines data-driven emotional measurement with healing activities in nature and serves as a model for the future-oriented educational policies the county pursues. We will further expand the foundation of Wanju-style healing education that encompasses children's emotional stability, educational welfare, and ecological sensitivity by cooperating with local universities and farms, and will continue to strengthen the collaborative system between schools, universities, and local resources through the Special Educational Development Zone project."
