On November 17, the Incheon city government announced that it will hold an Onnuri gift certificate refund event from November 19 to 23 to revitalize traditional markets during the kimchi-making season.
During this period, consumers who purchase domestic seafood at nine traditional markets in the city can receive a refund of 30% of their purchase amount in Onnuri gift certificates, up to a maximum of 20,000 won per person.
The participating markets are Incheon General Fish Market in Jung-gu; Nambu General Market, Yongnam Market, and Yonghyeon Market in Michuhol-gu; Okgyeon Market in Yeonsu-gu; Sorae Port Traditional Fish Market and Sorae Port General Fish Market in Namdong-gu; Bupyeong Kkang Market, Jinheung General Market, and Bupyeong General Market in Bupyeong-gu; and Jakjeon Market in Gyeyang-gu.
The refund amount varies depending on the purchase amount. Consumers who spend 67,000 won or more will receive 20,000 won in Onnuri gift certificates, while those who spend between 34,000 won and less than 67,000 won will receive 10,000 won in Onnuri gift certificates.
Consumers who wish to receive a refund should purchase domestic seafood at participating stores and submit their receipts at the on-site refund counter. However, purchases made at general restaurants, Zero Pay Seafood Festival mobile gift certificates, government reserve stock, and imported seafood are excluded from the refund program.
This year, Incheon has held five traditional market refund events, distributing Onnuri gift certificates worth a total of 3.08 billion won to approximately 183,000 citizens. In this event as well, Onnuri gift certificates worth 810 million won will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the event may end early if the budget is exhausted.
