Promoting Youth-Centered Policies Through Communication
Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 17th that Governor Lee Seunghwa held a meeting with the 10th Youth Steering Committee at the Youth Training Center.
The meeting was attended by Governor Lee Seunghwa and 12 members of the Youth Steering Committee Cheongjeongwon (Principles Decided by Youth). The event was organized to enhance youth participation and to promote youth training center and regional youth policies that reflect the perspectives of young people.
During the meeting, discussions were held on ways to improve the operation of the training center and policies as experienced by the youth.
There was also a free exchange of opinions, focusing on a total of eight suggestions, including improvements to the training center environment, which were shared through an overview of the current operations of the Youth Training Center.
In particular, the youth committee members directly explained their inconveniences and ideas for improvement, presenting a variety of suggestions to create a more youth-friendly space.
One youth committee member said, "This meeting was meaningful because our opinions were heard directly. If our suggestions are actually implemented, I would be very happy," and added, "I hope there will continue to be opportunities for ongoing communication in the future."
Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "We will thoroughly review the suggestions proposed from the youth's perspective and actively incorporate them into policy. As the future of Sancheong County depends on its youth, we will continue to expand opportunities for communication so that young people can directly lead changes in the region."
