Average Implementation Rate of Pledge Projects Reaches 81.94%
Up 6.7% Compared to the Previous 75.24%
On November 17, Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it had held a progress report meeting for the mayor's pledge projects for the second half of the 8th term in the main conference room of City Hall.
This meeting was organized to share the achievements of the 8th term mayoral pledge projects and to enhance the final implementation rate of the pledges. The mayor, directors of bureaus and departments, key senior officials, and 18 heads of departments responsible for all 45 ongoing pledge projects attended the meeting, where progress reports and reviews for each project were conducted.
Out of the 106 mayoral pledge projects for the 8th term, the progress of the remaining 45 projects-excluding 49 that have been completed, 2 that have been merged or abolished, and 10 that have been excluded-was reviewed. As of November, the average implementation rate for the pledges stood at 81.94%. This figure represents a 6.7% increase compared to the 75.24% average implementation rate recorded at the progress report meeting held in April for the first half of the year.

The number of completed pledge projects increased from 44 in the first half to 49, with 5 additional projects expected to be completed by the end of this year. These include: the opening of the '1 Trillion Won Era for Sacheon City's Initial Budget,' 'Fostering and Supporting the Drone Industry,' 'Establishment of Gonmyeong Wellness Park,' 'Development of Samcheonpo Stream (Hannae Stream) into the Second Cheonggyecheon,' and 'Expansion and Paving of the Road from Sinbok Residential Area to Donggang Atelier.'
As a result, the overall implementation rate of pledges compared to the annual targets set at the launch of the 8th term in the second half of 2022 is currently at 94.34%. Considering that 26 pledge projects, excluding 14 planned for completion after the term, are scheduled to be completed sequentially by June 2026, when the 8th term concludes, the final implementation rate for all pledge projects is expected to significantly exceed the current figure.
During the meeting, Mayor Park Dongsik urged the 18 department heads to ensure the smooth completion of pledge projects according to the original implementation goals. He also instructed them to prepare countermeasures for projects delayed due to administrative procedures, maintain continuous management of completed projects, and establish long-term development roadmaps for projects that have been excluded from the pledges.
Meanwhile, the progress of the mayor's pledge projects is made public to citizens through the city's website. By transparently sharing the details and reasons for changes or exclusions of projects through meetings of the pledge implementation evaluation committee, the city continues to strengthen communication with its citizens.
