On the 14th, Gwangmyeong City held the "2025 Gwangmyeong ESG Forum" at the Gwangmyeong Lifelong Learning Center under the theme "Achieving Carbon Neutrality through ESG."

At the forum, Mayor Park stated, "The Gwangmyeong ESG Action Team, a Gwangmyeong-style public-private ESG partnership network, is already delivering clear results," adding, "We will expand this initiative, strengthen our collaborative projects, and foster it as a driving force for sustainable development."

The ESG Action Team, launched in December last year with the goal of solving social and environmental issues and promoting the circulation of local assets, is a public-private partnership network involving local resources such as public institutions, companies, and social economy organizations.

During the forum, Junhwan Oh, Director at SK Social Value Research Institute, gave a lecture on "The Advent of the ESG Era and SK’s Social Value Management," and Junhee Jung, Head of the Social Value Linkage Team at the Gyeonggi-do Social Economy Center, spoke on "Collective Impact and Solutions to Social and Environmental Issues."

On this day, commendations for contributions to ESG activation were awarded to Kia Autoland Gwangmyeong, the Institute of Environmental Health and Technology, and IKEA Gwangmyeong Branch.

At the event, five new organizations-including the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation’s Cycle and Motorboat Racing Headquarters, Gwangmyeong Social Economy Cooperative, Gwangmyeong Welfare Center for the Disabled, Gwangmyeong City Haan Senior Welfare Center, and Gwangmyeong City Soha Senior Welfare Center-joined the ESG Action Team, increasing the number of participating organizations from 17 to 22.

Mayor Park emphasized, "ESG practices carried out jointly by the public and private sectors represent an important direction for Gwangmyeong City moving forward," and added, "We will steadfastly pursue the necessary changes and innovations for the city’s sustainable future."
