Kang, who has been appointed as the President’s Special Envoy for Strategic Economic Cooperation, made this remark to reporters at Incheon International Airport on the 13th before departing for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). He said, "I am sure many people have been waiting for this, and the discussions are proceeding thoroughly." The announcement of the Korea-US tariff and security fact sheet has been delayed beyond initial expectations.

Previously, Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, who is visiting Canada to attend the expanded meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers, met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss the joint fact sheet that will include the outcomes of the Korea-US summit.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Cho met Secretary Rubio the previous day (local time) on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting, during sessions on maritime and energy security. Although it was not a formal bilateral meeting, the two ministers were seen standing and conversing.

Regarding this, an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "Minister Cho requested Secretary Rubio’s special efforts to ensure that the joint explanatory document is announced swiftly, so that all matters agreed upon during the two summits between Korea and the United States can be concretized." In response, Secretary Rubio also said, "I will actively communicate with relevant US departments to help ensure the joint explanatory document is released as soon as possible," according to the ministry.

The announcement of the fact sheet summarizing the results of the Korea-US summit held on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju on October 29 has been delayed for more than two weeks. It is reported that there are differing opinions within US government agencies, but the details have not been disclosed.
