Yeongam Youth Participate in International Exchange and Cultural Experience in Kanzaki, Japan

Youth from Yeongam County, South Jeolla Province, visited Kanzaki City, Japan, to participate in a cultural and artistic exchange between Korean and Japanese students.

The county announced that from November 10 to 12, a group of 21 students from Nangju Middle School and Samhoseo Middle School in Yeongam visited Kanzaki Middle School and Chiyoda Middle School in Japan, taking part in a sister school international exchange and cultural experience program for three days and two nights.

This exchange program, organized by Yeongam County and Kanzaki City, was designed to help students from both countries understand each other's cultures and develop international awareness. The students attended local school classes together and built friendships through various cultural and artistic activities, including traditional games, yukata experiences, and Soran Bushi performances.

During the welcome event hosted by Kanzaki City, discussions were also held on expanding youth exchanges and strengthening mutual cooperation, further solidifying the foundation for exchanges between the two regions.

Since the relationship began in 2008 with Kanzaki City's "Wangin Cheonmangung Development Plan," Yeongam County and Kanzaki City have continued their partnership, including the establishment of sister school ties in 2016 and the signing of a friendship exchange agreement in 2024.

Choi Bokyong, Head of the Talent Development and Sports Department of Yeongam County, stated, "This exchange has become a valuable opportunity for the next generation to understand and respect each other's cultures," adding, "We will further promote international youth exchanges to enhance the global sensibility and pride of Yeongam students."
