Up to 50,000 Won Limit
15% Total Benefit Including Recharge Incentives
On November 13, the city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold a 5% cashback event for its local currency “Daon” from November 17 to December 31, in celebration of the year-end season to boost consumption and support small business owners.
This event is funded by a special grant secured after the city was selected as an exemplary local government for its local currency operations this year.
During the event period, users who make payments with the Daon card will receive 5% of the payment amount as cashback. The cashback limit is 50,000 won. As a result, consumers will receive a total benefit of 15%, including a 10% recharge incentive. However, the event may end early if the allocated budget is exhausted.
The cashback is provided instantly at the time of payment and can be checked in real time through the local currency app. Only payments made with the user’s own recharged funds are eligible for cashback; amounts paid with incentives, policy allowances, livelihood recovery consumption coupons, and policy cards are excluded.
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, said, “We hope that this year-end local currency event will help revive sluggish consumer sentiment and provide practical support to local small business owners.”
