Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is visiting Canada to attend the expanded meeting of G7 foreign ministers, met with Mark Rubio, United States Secretary of State, for a conversation. It appears that they discussed matters related to the joint fact sheet (a joint explanatory document) that will include the agreements from the recent South Korea-U.S. summit, whose release has been delayed.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 13th, Minister Cho met with Secretary Rubio on the previous day (local time) on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, during sessions on maritime and energy security. Although it was not a formal bilateral meeting, the two ministers were seen standing and talking together.
The release of the fact sheet summarizing the results of the South Korea-U.S. summit, which took place on October 29 in Gyeongju during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, has been delayed for more than two weeks. It is known that there are disagreements within the U.S. government, and it is possible that the two ministers shared the current status regarding this issue. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not disclose the specific details of their discussion.
Meanwhile, Minister Cho attended this G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting as a representative of an invited country and held bilateral meetings with Canada, Mexico, the EU, Germany, and others. During his meeting with Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada and chair of the G7, he stated, "I hope that South Korea, as a future partner of Canada, will actively contribute to achieving Canada's security and defense objectives, including the upcoming submarine project."
