Sancheong County Wins Prime Minister's and Agricultural and Fishery Worker Awards at the 30th Agricultural Workers' Day

Park Sera, CEO of Sera Farm, Wins the 'Proud Agricultural and Fishery Worker Award' in the Newcomer Category

The achievements of farmers who have contributed to the development of agriculture in Sancheong County, South Gyeongsang Province, are drawing attention.


According to Sancheong County on November 13, at the commemorative event for the 30th Agricultural Workers' Day, local farmers received various honors, including the Prime Minister's Commendation and the Proud Agricultural and Fishery Worker Award from South Gyeongsang Province.


First, at the Agricultural Workers' Day event hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in Wonju, Joo Jaeyong, Chairman of the Korea Pork Producers Association's South Gyeongsang Provincial Council, received the Prime Minister's Commendation.

Joo Jaeyong was recognized for his contributions to the community, including providing education to maintain high productivity in pig farming, efforts to improve manure recycling facilities and reduce odors, establishing the pork traceability system, promoting facility improvements to prevent fire hazards at pig farms, and annually donating scholarships and charity funds to support local development.


On the same day, at a ceremony hosted by South Gyeongsang Province at the Changwon Convention Center, Park Sera, CEO of Sera Farm, received the 'Proud Agricultural and Fishery Worker Award' in the newcomer category.


Park Sera, the first successor of the "Perennial Snow Strawberry" in Korea, is leading the creation of added value through collaborations with premium brands, supplying to high-end restaurants, and entering major domestic distribution channels.


Doh Yongrak of Sinan-myeon and Kim Seoyun, an official from Danseong-myeon, also received the South Gyeongsang Governor's Award for their contributions to the development of local agricultural administration.


County Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "We will continue to provide policy support so that Sancheong farmers can achieve outstanding results in the future."
