Gyeonggi Province to Hold 'Virtual Convergence Industry Performance Sharing Event' at Pangyo on November 20-21

Gyeonggi Province will hold the Virtual Convergence Industry (AXR) Performance Sharing Event at the Pangyo Startup Campus on November 20 and 21.

AXR is a combination of AX (AI Transformation) and XR (eXtended Reality), signifying "the future of virtual convergence in the era of AI Transformation."

The virtual convergence industry encompasses content that merges reality and virtuality, such as XR, the metaverse, and digital twin technologies. As AI technology is applied across all industries, it is creating new opportunities for change.

At this event, 26 promising companies-among the various virtual convergence businesses supported by Gyeonggi Province this year-will present their achievements. In addition, 24 advanced media-based exhibition and experiential content pieces, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), will be showcased.

Park Noguk, Director-General of Future Growth Industries at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Virtual convergence content will be utilized in various industrial fields through AI technology," adding, "We hope that many of the companies supported by Gyeonggi Province this year will introduce diverse content to the market next year."

Meanwhile, as competition in the global XR device market intensifies, interest in the expansion potential of the virtual convergence ecosystem is growing. The event will feature presentation sessions-where leading domestic companies driving the global XR ecosystem and major domestic platform companies such as Samsung Electronics, Naver, and Amaze will share industry outlooks and technology trends-as well as hands-on exhibitions.
