Songpa District Women's Football Team Achieves Sixth Consecutive Victory in Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cup

Proving Their Reputation as the Nation's Strongest Women's Football Team

The Songpa District Women's Football Team, led by Mayor Seo Kangseok, achieved their sixth consecutive victory by winning the 22nd National Women's Football Tournament hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. On November 12, the district announced that this achievement is the result of the team's strong teamwork and consistent effort.

The tournament was held on November 1 and 2 in the Inje-gun area of Gangwon Province. The Songpa District Women's Football Team advanced to the finals by dominating their opponents with stable match management throughout the group stage and semifinals. In the final, they secured the championship by defeating the Yongsan District Women's Football Team from Seoul with a score of 1-0 after a fierce contest. Since its founding in 1998, the Songpa District Women's Football Team has now recorded a total of 61 championships and 22 runner-up finishes, maintaining its position as the strongest team in the country.

The team, led by Director Park Youngok and Head Coach Kim Duseon, consists of about 30 members ranging in age from their 20s to their 60s. Despite having their own primary occupations, the members have continued to train regularly at their dedicated home ground, the Songpa District Women's Football Stadium, building both their organizational strength and physical fitness.
