Mgen Solution Files Patent for World's First Firefighting Robot Equipped with 'AI Fire Suppression Solution'

Mgen Solution announced on November 12 that it has recently filed a patent application for artificial intelligence (AI)-based autonomous firefighting robot technology.

This technology is a next-generation firefighting robot system that recognizes fire sources at the scene and automatically controls the spray angle to quickly extinguish fires. According to the company, Mgen Solution is the only one in the world to possess AI-based fire detection and suppression technology.

The robot uses AI to comprehensively analyze data from multiple sensors, including red-green-blue (RGB) cameras, thermal imaging, LiDAR sensors, and gas sensors, to precisely identify fire sources and automatically spray extinguishing agents to efficiently suppress fires.

Unlike conventional firefighting robots, which are supplied with extinguishing water from a water truck and remotely controlled, Mgen Solution's robot is a fully autonomous system equipped with its own water supply. As soon as it detects a fire, it moves independently, calculates the coordinates of the fire source, and autonomously controls the optimal spray angle and pressure to carry out initial firefighting operations on its own. This improves both the speed and precision of fire response, enabling more effective utilization of the "golden time" in real-world situations.

Mgen Solution has developed the robot not only with an AI-based prediction and decision-making engine but also with a structure that can be integrated with its proprietary security, surveillance, and video monitoring solutions. This allows the platform to conduct integrated analysis of on-site video and data as soon as a fire is detected, evolving into a smart disaster response platform. The company has connected existing fire and security systems into a unified control system, automating the entire process from fire prevention and detection to suppression and post-incident analysis.

Additionally, based on a track-type autonomous driving system, the robot is designed to reliably suppress fires even in difficult-to-access areas such as mountainous regions, tunnels, and industrial complexes. It can also be immediately deployed for fire response at large industrial facilities, including logistics centers, factories, data centers, and underground installations. Mgen Solution unveiled this robot for the first time at the "2025 International Fire Safety Expo" held in June, where it attracted significant attention from both domestic and international buyers as well as public institution officials.

A representative from Mgen Solution stated, "When abnormal signals such as heat detection, increased gas concentration, or changes in video are detected, the robot immediately sets the optimal route and moves to the site, enabling it to perform its mission even in hazardous areas that are difficult for humans to access. With the recent surge in large-scale fire incidents at sites such as forest fires, logistics centers, and parking lots, demand for smart firefighting systems is rapidly increasing. We plan to target overseas markets, starting with Korea."
