"Gijang County Where Everyone Can Enjoy Sports Regardless of Economic Circumstances"
Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on November 11 that applications for the '2026 Sports Class Voucher' program, targeting local low-income children, adolescents, and people with disabilities, will be accepted until November 28.
This initiative was launched to expand opportunities for physical activities among residents who face difficulties participating in sports due to economic reasons. The county aims to promote health and achieve social integration through sports.
The 'Children and Youth Sports Class Voucher' is available to basic livelihood security recipients and those in the lower income bracket aged 5 to 18 (born between 2008 and 2021), with support of up to 105,000 won per month for a maximum of 12 months.
Additionally, the 'Sports Class Voucher for People with Disabilities' targets individuals with disabilities aged 5 to 69 (born between 1957 and 2021), providing support of up to 110,000 won per month.
Applications can be submitted from November 10 to November 28 through the Sports Class Voucher website or at the local township and town administrative welfare centers. The voucher must be renewed annually, and the final recipients will be individually notified in December. The support funds can be used throughout 2026.
Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, stated, "It is important to create an environment where everyone can enjoy sports regardless of their economic circumstances," adding, "We will continue to expand our sports welfare policies so that all residents can enjoy a healthy and vibrant life."
