Silla University RISE Project Group Operates Regional Industry Field Experience Program Students from the Department of Animal Physiology at Silla University are visiting Seoul Milk and taking a commemorative photo.

This program was held from October 28 to November 3 with the goal of fostering practice-oriented talent who will grow together with the local community. Students visited key sites in the local lifestyle industry, such as the food industry and the companion animal industry, to gain an understanding of industrial structures and gain hands-on experience.

In particular, this field experience went beyond simple tours and was operated as a "field practice-based education" that combined practical exchanges with industry professionals and job-centered learning, which was highly appreciated by the students.

As the first activity, students from the Department of Food and Nutrition Bakery visited Nature Gadeukchan, a company specializing in group catering, where they received training to understand the role of dietitians. They learned about the structure of meal service operations, menu planning, and hygiene and safety management systems, and experienced industry trends and career development directions firsthand through Q&A sessions with working dietitians.

One student commented, "It was very beneficial to see what we learned in the classroom applied in the field," adding, "I realized once again how systematic and professional the food industry is."

Next, on November 3, students from the Department of Companion Animal Studies visited Seoul Milk, The Happy Together Farm, and the Animal Medical Center at Gyeongsang National University, where they experienced the full range of breeding, welfare, and medical care. Students learned about animal welfare concepts by observing farm breeding environments and, at the medical center, observed clinical procedures and learned about diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation systems.

Students who participated in the field training expressed high satisfaction, saying, "Seeing medical technologies in person, which we had only read about in books, made us even more interested in our major."

This program is evaluated as having both increased students' understanding of their respective professions and strengthened the foundation for cooperation between local industries and the university.

Kim Mihyang, Dean of the College of Life Sciences, said, "This industrial field trip was a living education experience, learning outside the classroom in real industry settings," adding, "Students developed a mature sense of professionalism by experiencing the social roles of their majors and the structure of the industry firsthand."

Hwang Inju, Head of the Silla University RISE Project Group, stated, "Industry-linked field experiences are a representative model of the RISE project's core value of fostering region-based innovative talent," and added, "We will expand these programs to all academic fields, including the College of Life Sciences, to lead regional industrial development and create youth employment opportunities."
