860,000 Visitors Drawn by Steady Attendance
On November 10, Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that the 25th Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival, held from November 1 to 9, concluded successfully, attracting approximately 860,000 visitors over the nine-day period.
Held under the theme "Drawn to Chrysanthemums, Meeting Autumn," this year's festival allowed visitors to enjoy chrysanthemums in full bloom from the very first day, thanks to the accurate prediction of the blooming period. With warm and clear weather on eight out of the nine festival days, the venue was bustling with crowds every day.
The first festival site (3.15 Marine Nuri Park) was designed as a retro space centered on chrysanthemum exhibitions, while the second site (Hong Kong Bar Sentimental Food Stall) offered a newtro-themed romantic food stall area inspired by the "Hong Kong Bar" atmosphere. Each venue provided unique attractions, receiving positive reviews from visitors.
In particular, the "(Former) Hong Kong Bar Sentimental Food Stall," planned to appeal to younger generations, became a hot topic among Millennials & Gen Z tourists for its romantic ambiance and unique food offerings.
Additionally, the "Drone Light Show," featuring 700 drones forming symbols representing Changwon’s three major professional sports teams-NC, FC, and LG-as well as the region's renowned Changwon sweet persimmons, and the large-scale "Multimedia Fireworks Show" combining spectacular music and lighting, received enthusiastic responses from spectators, further solidifying the festival’s reputation as Changwon’s signature autumn event.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Thanks to the participation of every citizen and visitor, this festival was able to become richer and more meaningful. We will carefully review areas for improvement through future evaluation meetings and actively incorporate them into next year’s festival, striving to ensure that the event continues to evolve and improve each year."
