The Gumi Golden Slugger Baseball Club, a pillar of amateur baseball in Gumi, Gyeongbuk, achieved a remarkable feat by claiming victory for the first time in three years at the "2025 Amateur Club Baseball Tournament Gyeongbuk League Tournament" held in Gumi, showcasing overwhelming performance throughout the competition.
During this tournament, which took place over two weekends and included the finals from November 1 to 9, Gumi Golden Slugger stood out among all participating teams, clearly proving itself as the strongest team in Gyeongbuk.
Starting from the round of 16, Gumi Golden Slugger swept through the tournament by recording more than 10 hits and over 10 runs in every game, demonstrating a formidable offensive power.
In the semifinals, they secured a perfect 11-0 victory against the Sangju Ghosts to advance to the finals. In the championship match, they maintained their focus at the plate and achieved a resounding 16-4 win over their perennial rivals, Andong The Best, lifting the championship trophy in triumph.
With this victory, Gumi Golden Slugger accomplished the coveted "triple crown" by winning all major regional tournaments held in Gyeongbuk this year, including the Gyeongbuk Governor's Cup, the Gyeongbuk Association President's Cup, and the Gyeongbuk League.
At the tournament's awards ceremony, Baek Jinsoo (Gumi Golden Slugger) received the Manager's Award, Song Seokyoung (Gumi Golden Slugger) was named Most Valuable Player, Ahn Jaehyung (Gumi Golden Slugger) received the Batting Award, Song Changwon (Gumi Golden Slugger) was awarded Outstanding Pitcher, Ha Hyeongeun (Gumi Golden Slugger) received the Distinguished Service Award, and Jeong Yoongeun (Gumi Golden Slugger) was honored with the Coach's Award.
