A Variety of Attractions Including the Agricultural Market
The Namwon City Agricultural Association Council in North Jeolla Province announced on November 7 that it will hold the Namwon Farmers' Festival with Citizens at Sarang Square for two days, from November 10 to 11.
This event is designed to promote the excellence of Namwon's agricultural products by opening a marketplace with citizens. Plans include an agricultural product market, hands-on experience programs with citizens, and a ceremony commemorating the 30th Farmers' Day, all to be enjoyed together with Namwon citizens.
The products sold at the agricultural market are top-quality agricultural goods produced throughout Namwon. To boost the local economy and encourage the use of local currency, about 30% of the sales amount will be refunded as Namwon Love Gift Certificates at a discount.
Additionally, during the event, citizens and tourists who support local agriculture will have the opportunity to taste high-quality Namwon agricultural products through the "Table for 1,000" (bibimbap) prepared with local produce. There will also be a cake-cutting ceremony with the farmers, who are the main protagonists of Farmers' Day, to celebrate the 30th anniversary.
To mark the 30th Farmers' Day, the Namwon Agricultural Technology Center will honor the hard work of those engaged in agriculture by selecting four individuals in different fields who have contributed to the development of local agriculture, and will present them with the Farmer of the Year Award.
The center also plans to provide full support for a variety of programs and events, including an exhibition of the apple quality contest results and a rice taste evaluation event by variety.
