Daejeon City Council’s Special Personnel Hearing Committee Recognizes Understanding of Public Service and Commitment to Corporate Innovation
On November 7, the Special Personnel Hearing Committee of the Daejeon City Council adopted the report on the personnel hearing for Lee Gwangchuk, the nominee for President of Daejeon Transportation Corporation, with a "qualified" opinion.
In its report, the committee noted that although the nominee lacks expertise in the transportation sector, it highly valued his broad perspective and understanding of public service gained through his long career in broadcasting and media, as well as the sincerity and strong communication skills he demonstrated during the hearing process.
The committee also assessed that if the nominee's plans for management innovation and organizational culture improvement are implemented, they will contribute to enhancing the management performance of Daejeon Transportation Corporation and restoring public trust.
In particular, the committee expressed expectations for positive changes in the corporation’s structure and citizen satisfaction, highlighting the nominee’s stated commitments to: ▲ a management philosophy that prioritizes citizen safety ▲ securing financial soundness and improving management efficiency ▲ stable labor-management relations and strengthened communication ▲ driving innovation in response to future transportation transitions ▲ operating the organization with integrity and transparency ▲ and innovating citizen-centered services.
Song Inseok, Chairperson of the Special Personnel Hearing Committee, stated, "We hope the nominee will leverage his experience and balanced perspective as a journalist to lead on-site management that puts citizen safety first," adding, "We expect Daejeon Transportation Corporation to do its utmost to become a trusted and beloved public enterprise for the citizens."
Meanwhile, the report adopted by the Special Personnel Hearing Committee was submitted to the Chairperson of the Council on November 7 and will be forwarded to the Mayor of Daejeon Metropolitan City.
