Special English Education Lecture Series 'AI×English' in Collaboration with Busan University of Foreign Studies
The Yangsan City English Library in South Gyeongsang Province, in collaboration with Busan University of Foreign Studies, will host a special English education lecture series titled 'AI×English,' exploring the direction of English learning in the age of artificial intelligence. The series will be held in two sessions on November 30 and December 7, 2025.
This special lecture series is part of an annual English education program. By partnering with a university as a knowledge institution, the public library aims to provide local residents with expert information on English education and to enhance citizens' language skills and lifelong learning through the promotion of English reading.
The first session will take place on November 30 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Professor Kim Minhwe of Busan University of Foreign Studies delivering a lecture on "AI: Is It Effective for English Learning?" The session will focus on changes in artificial intelligence technology, the current state of English education, and the advantages, disadvantages, and practical applications of using AI in English learning.
The second session, scheduled for December 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., will cover "Storytelling and the Use of English Literature Works with AI." The lecture will introduce ways to use AI tools to attempt English storytelling and to read and understand English literature more engagingly.
The lectures will be held in the multipurpose auditorium on the third floor of the Yangsan City English Library, and up to 20 Yangsan citizens may participate in each session.
Registration opens at 10:00 a.m. on November 11 and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, either through the library’s website or by phone.
A representative from the Yangsan City English Library stated, "We hope this will be an opportunity to reconsider the role of English education and reading in an era of rapidly advancing AI technology. Through our collaboration with Busan University of Foreign Studies, we expect citizens will gain easy access to expert English education information and that this will help spread a culture of lifelong learning and English reading."
