The three major indexes of the New York Stock Exchange all closed lower. Investor sentiment sharply deteriorated as concerns over an "artificial intelligence (AI) bubble" continued to weigh on the market, and news emerged that U.S. companies had initiated the largest round of layoffs in 22 years.
On November 6 (local time) at the New York Stock Exchange, the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average ended trading at 46,912.30, down 398.70 points (0.84%) from the previous session. The large-cap S&P 500 Index closed at 6,720.32, falling 75.97 points (1.12%), while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Index plunged 445.80 points (1.90%) to finish at 23,053.99.
