AI Cuts $2 Million Video Production Cost Down to $43,000 [K, to Hollywood]

AI Video, Revolutionizing Hollywood Production Costs
Studio Meta K to Pursue Series B Investment Next Year

AI Cuts $2 Million Video Production Cost Down to $43,000 [K, to Hollywood] Kwangjip Kim, CEO of Studio Meta K [Johanuel, QK Pictures Artist]

"It is possible to create valuable intellectual property (IP) while reducing production costs."

On November 5 (local time), Kwangjip Kim, CEO of Studio Meta K, introduced generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based video production technology at "U-KNOCK 2025 in USA," an event hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, USA.

The figures he presented were specific. A project that would traditionally require eight months and a production budget of 1.5 million dollars (approximately 2.2 billion won) can now be completed in just two weeks for 30,000 dollars (about 43 million won). The production cost is reduced by about 98%, and the timeline is shortened to one-sixteenth, while the visual quality is maintained-this is the key point.

In fact, a test commercial produced in collaboration with an American production company has received high praise within the industry. Kim stated, "It may be hard to believe, but the entire video was produced using AI technology."

Studio Meta K is active in content production using generative AI, AI virtual artists, and the production of K-dramas and films. Kim pointed out, "The production costs for K-dramas have more than tripled over the past three years," adding, "In particular, large-scale visual effects (VFX) scenes require several months of work and significant budgets."

The utility of high-quality AI virtual humans is also considerable. The AI virtual artist group "Season," currently in production, consists of four members symbolizing spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

The virtual human "Iaaa" appeared on JTBC and participated as both an actress and an OST contributor in the film "Dear Name." Another virtual human, "Suvi," is both a singer and actress and will appear on MBN's "Divorced Singles Season 7."

Kim stated, "Over the past three years, we have received approximately 4 million dollars (about 5.8 billion won) in government grants, which has validated our technological capabilities." He added, "We also recently completed a Series A investment round worth 2.5 million dollars (about 3.1 billion won). Next year, we plan to seek Series B investment partners to further expand our business."
