Jindo County in South Jeolla Province successfully concluded the meaningful festival, the "50th Jindo County Residents' Day," which reaffirmed the unity and progress of its residents.

From November 1 to 2, the county held a commemorative ceremony and a residents' sports competition at Jindo Public Stadium, providing an opportunity for all residents to communicate as one and pledge their commitment to the county's development.

The commemorative ceremony was attended by more than 1,300 people, including teams from towns and townships, various institutions and organizations, and members of the Jindo hometown association. The event began with a unique entrance ceremony by teams from all seven towns and townships, setting the stage for a festival of unity. This was followed by a health exercise performance by the "Wonder Women Team," a Jindo Arirang performance by the Jindo County Folk Art Troupe, and a group Ganggangsullae dance featuring 300 performers by the Jindo Ganggangsullae Preservation Association, all of which elevated the pride of Jindo residents.

The Jindo County Residents' Award was posthumously presented to the late artist Baekpo Kwak Nambaek, and 31 residents who contributed to the development of the local community received commendations from the county governor.

At the residents' sports competition held the following day, teams from all seven towns and townships competed fiercely in 16 events, including track and field, soccer, badminton, foot volleyball, and table tennis. In the tug-of-war event, both athletes and supporters united, demonstrating the true spirit of harmony.

The overall results were as follows: 1st place went to Uisin-myeon, 2nd place to Jindo-eup, and 3rd place to Gunnae-myeon. Special awards were also presented: the Harmony Award to Imhoe-myeon, the Cheering Award to Gogun-myeon, the Exemplary Award to Jisan-myeon, and the Achievement Award to Jodo-myeon.

Jindo County Sports Association President Cho Gyucheol stated, "What mattered more than winning or losing was the sight of all residents coming together in harmony," adding, "We will continue to promote a healthy sports culture in the future."

Jindo County Governor Kim Heesu remarked, "The 50th anniversary of Residents' Day is a meaningful milestone that commemorates Jindo's growth and the unity of its residents," and pledged, "I will do my utmost to make Jindo a happier and better place to live, together with all residents."
