Exploring the Future of Regional Manufacturing
Through the AI Transformation Conference
On November 6, 2025, Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province will host the '2025 Yangsan Manufacturing Industry AI Transformation Strategy Conference' at the Yangsan Business Center.
The event provided an opportunity to reaffirm that the integration of advanced technology and manufacturing is the path forward for the future advancement of the manufacturing industry.
The conference was attended by over 100 participants, including Yangsan Mayor Na Dongyeon, Yangsan City Council Chairman Kwak Jongpo, Yangsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Park Changhyeon, Citizens Integration Committee Chairman Park Wonhyeon, as well as representatives from research institutions and business leaders.
The conference began with presentations on the achievements of Daehan Precision Industry and Cowell, which have created jobs and increased sales through Yangsan City's support programs. These presentations served as a catalyst for the attending business leaders to recognize the importance of investing in R&D.
This was followed by a special lecture from Professor Yoo Namhyun of Kyungnam University, under the theme of "The Era of Physical AI: Strategies for Regional Manufacturing Advancement through AI Transformation." Professor Yoo, who serves as the general director of the next-generation physical artificial intelligence (AI) core technology demonstration project-a large-scale national initiative with a budget of 1 trillion won-is considered a central figure in the AI manufacturing industry.
In particular, Professor Yoo led an in-depth discussion on the role of regional manufacturing in the era of AI transformation, using examples from local companies such as Hwaseung R&A and Korens that are participating in the project, and exchanged meaningful opinions with the attendees.
In the lobby of the venue, the results of collaborative technology development investments between local companies and innovation institutions were exhibited, allowing participants to directly observe the positive impact of technological development on manufacturing.
This conference, organized in response to the era-defining topic of AI transformation, follows last year's R&BD Institution Performance Sharing Conference and serves as a platform to strengthen collaboration among academia, industry, and government for the future-oriented industrial development of Yangsan City. The city plans to continue providing opportunities for discussion on regional industrial development through various forms of networking activities every year.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "Manufacturing innovation that combines AI and advanced technology is a new industrial revolution that will provide better jobs and sustainable growth for future generations. Our city will seize these changes and strive for regional economic development."
