Geochang County Conducts Safety Experience Training for Public Officials in Charge of Active Workers

Hands-On Training Conducted to Prevent Industrial Accidents
and Strengthen On-Site Response Capabilities

Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on November 6 that it conducted the "2025 Safety Experience Training for Public Officials in Charge of Active Workers" at a safety experience training center located in Damyang County, South Jeolla Province, in celebration of "Safety Inspection Day." The training targeted 20 public officials responsible for active workers.

According to the standards set by the Occupational Safety and Health Act, "active workers" refer to employees engaged in hazardous or dangerous work, such as cleaning, facility management, and cooking. In public institutions, this includes those responsible for maintaining facilities such as government buildings, roads, parks, forests, or those working in food service facilities.

This training featured immersive programs simulating industrial accident scenarios that may occur at worksites. Participants experienced industrial accidents such as ▲ wearing safety harnesses and simulating fall accidents ▲ forklift collision accidents ▲ ladder fall accidents ▲ aerial work platform fall accidents ▲ rolling machine entrapment accidents ▲ fire and explosion accidents. The program also included hands-on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) practice.

Participants were able to directly recognize the risks and understand the importance of safety measures through hands-on, experience-based training rather than simple lectures. This allowed them to develop practical capabilities to respond immediately in the field.

Geochang County stated, "Since the active work sector is closely connected to the daily living environment of residents, ensuring safety on-site directly leads to the safety of the community. We will continue to create a disaster-free work environment through practical and highly engaging training programs."

Meanwhile, Geochang County operates a "Safety Inspection Day" campaign once a month to promote a safety culture with active resident participation.
