Yeoncheon County Transforms Closed Facility into 'Healing Hub'... Shinseo Healing Stay Opens Yeoncheon County completed the remodeling construction of Shinseo Healing Stay (bathhouse, guesthouse) on the 5th and held an opening ceremony. Provided by Yeoncheon County

The opening ceremony was attended by Yeoncheon County Mayor Kim Deokhyun, Yeoncheon County Council Chairperson Kim Mikyung and other council members, Seong Injae, Director of Balanced Development at Gyeonggi Province, Park Youngkyu, Director of the Gyeonggi Urban Regeneration Support Center, Shinseo-myeon Mayor Lee Kisoo, Shinseo Residents’ Cooperative Chairman Wi Seongcheol, local residents, and others.

This project had a total budget of 2.6 billion won and included the creation of Shinseo Healing Stay as an income-generating facility, the development of local signature menus, and resident education programs such as community project contests.

Shinseo Healing Stay, located at 273-40 Dosin-ri, Shinseo-myeon, originally operated as Jinju Bathhouse and Jinjujang Inn by private individuals, but had ceased operations due to population decline in the area and the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this urban regeneration project, the facility has been reborn and is now operated directly by residents through the establishment of a cooperative.

The facility overview of Shinseo Healing Stay (bathhouse, guesthouse) is as follows: a total floor area of 493.62 square meters, with one basement floor and two above-ground floors. The basement houses the mechanical room; the first floor contains one men’s and one women’s bathhouse, as well as Dosin Maru (a community lounge); and the second floor consists of guesthouse accommodations, with six standard rooms (single rooms, maximum two people per room) and two deluxe rooms (double rooms, maximum four people per room), totaling eight rooms.

Yeoncheon County expects that this opening ceremony will widely promote the facility’s role as a regional hub and help revitalize the local economy by attracting more visitors.

Kim Deokhyun, Mayor of Yeoncheon County, stated, "Shinseo Healing Stay will provide convenient facilities for residents and serve as a lodging space for tourists and visitors, greatly contributing to the revitalization of the local community and economy."
