Strong Warning Against Unauthorized Use of SNS Photos and AI Synthesis
Model Moon Gabi has strongly protested the unauthorized use of her son's unreleased face photo in an artificial intelligence (AI) synthesized video. Moon Gabi expressed her discomfort, stating that although she had only posted photos showing the back of her son, videos created by AI with her son's face superimposed are now circulating.
On November 5, Moon Gabi wrote on her social networking service (SNS) Instagram, "On October 30, I shared a few photos to update everyone on my recent life," and added, "They were ordinary daily photos of a mother and son, showing my child, but I have never released any photos or videos that reveal my child's face anywhere."
She further pointed out, "Nevertheless, one account used the photos I posted without my consent and illegally created content, uploading a post as if I had revealed my son's face and made an official statement."
She emphasized, "The person and captions in that video are clearly false and fabricated, and it is an AI-synthesized video created without permission using the original photos. Please refrain from any further acts that distort the daily life of a mother and child, including the spread of fake photos and videos that do not represent reality."
Previously, on October 30, Moon Gabi had posted several photos on her SNS wearing matching outfits with her son. In those photos, her son's face was not revealed.
Moon Gabi gave birth to her son in March of last year and personally announced the news through SNS in November of the same year. At that time, there was no mention of the child's biological father, but a few days later, it was revealed to be actor Jung Woosung, drawing significant public attention.
Artist Company, Jung Woosung's agency, acknowledged at the time that the child Moon Gabi had revealed was indeed Jung Woosung's biological son, but stated that there were no plans for marriage. The agency also said, "They are discussing the best approach to parenting, and Jung Woosung will fulfill his responsibilities as a father."
Jung Woosung later apologized at the Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony, saying, "I sincerely apologize for any concern and disappointment I have caused. I will take all the criticism and fulfill my responsibilities as a father to my son to the very end."
