Mayor Kim's visit to Berlin follows her attendance at the 2025 Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF) in Bordeaux and is part of an overseas benchmarking program for advanced case studies, organized by the National Council of Local Governments for Social Solidarity Economy.

On this day, Mayor Kim met with Andreas Kraus, State Secretary for Climate Action and Environment in Berlin, and visited the agrivoltaic research complex, a local food cooperative, a citizen-led local market, as well as institutions and sites related to urban regeneration. She benchmarked social innovation policies such as RE100 implementation cases, urban planning in line with these efforts, carbon neutrality, and energy transition.

Mayor Kim stated, "To design and operate policies for citizens through communication with citizens, we will establish more open and convenient channels for gathering public opinion, and implement administrative designs that lead to increased farmers' income, energy transition, and carbon neutrality."
