Active in the Field of International Taxation
Lee Jeongryeol, Partner Attorney (42nd Judicial Research and Training Institute) at Sejong Law Firm (Managing Partner Oh Jonghan), has been appointed as President of the Korea Chapter of YIN (Young IFA Network) under the International Fiscal Association of Korea.
According to the legal community on November 5, the International Fiscal Association of Korea announced that YIN KOREA (hereinafter referred to as 'the Association') elected Attorney Lee as the new President during its regular general meeting, which was held in conjunction with the 30th Autumn Seminar on October 31. The term of office is one year.
Attorney Lee Jeongryeol completed his master's and doctoral coursework in tax law at Seoul National University School of Law and has served as a director at both the International Fiscal Association of Korea and the Korean Association of Tax Law. He is recognized as a leading tax attorney and has been named a Leading Lawyer in the tax field by Legal 500 Asia-Pacific since 2020.
In addition, the Association elected Moon Pilju, Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Local Finance, as the next President. Han Byungki, Attorney at Kim & Chang (10th Bar Exam), was appointed as Editor-in-Chief and will oversee the review and editing of submitted papers for the Association's annual publication, "International Tax Studies."
Furthermore, Kim Jihyung, Attorney at Sejong (9th Bar Exam), and Lee Sanguk, Attorney at Bae, Kim & Lee (6th Bar Exam), were appointed as Executive Directors, while Kim Jeongseok, Attorney at Sejong (12th Bar Exam), was appointed as Financial Director and will handle practical affairs for the Association's operations. Kim Taehyung, U.S. CPA at Yulchon, was appointed as Auditor.
In his inauguration speech, Attorney Lee Jeongryeol stated, "It is a great responsibility to be appointed as President of the YIN Korea Chapter at a time when the Association, established in 2016, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Just as the professionals who started their careers at the founding of the Association have now become key mid-career experts in various tax-related fields, I will do my utmost to continue laying the foundation for YIN Korea to serve as a cradle for young tax professionals."
Meanwhile, YIN Korea, established in 2016 and celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is the Korean chapter and academic organization of the global YIN (Young IFA Network), where tax researchers and practitioners gather for academic exchange and networking. It is an affiliated organization under the International Fiscal Association, consisting mainly of professionals under the age of 40 who are active in the field of international taxation.
