Linked with the Citizens' Harmony Festival and Chrysanthemum Festival
Bringing "Vitality" to the Local Economy
Iksan City in North Jeolla Province recorded 44.6 billion KRW in sales from payments made with the local love gift certificate "Dairo-um" last month.
This achievement was the result of various consumption promotion policies and large-scale events, such as festivals, which were intensively held as part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the city-county merger and the Citizens' Harmony Festival. These efforts were linked to special benefit events for the "Dairo-um" local love gift certificate.

This figure represents an increase of 7.1 billion KRW (19%) compared to September (37.5 billion KRW), and a rise of 13.6 billion KRW (44%) compared to August (31 billion KRW), demonstrating that the city's consumption revitalization strategies have translated into actual sales growth.
Last month, the issuance amount of Dairo-um purchased directly by consumers reached 54.1 billion KRW, a surge of approximately 35% from the previous month (40.1 billion KRW). When including the 1 billion KRW issued in the form of policy payments, the total issuance for October amounted to 55.1 billion KRW, marking the highest monthly figure so far this year.
This boost in consumption is also connected to the temporary purchase benefits promoted by Iksan City in conjunction with the Citizens' Harmony Festival. During the past month, the city raised the monthly purchase limit for Dairo-um to 1 million KRW and increased the incentive rate to 13%, providing a maximum discount benefit of 130,000 KRW.
From October 29 to November 9, additional benefits of up to 28% were offered, including an extra policy allowance equal to 5% of the amount spent during the "Korea Grand Sale" period (up to a limit of 600,000 KRW), further boosting the popularity of Dairo-um.
The "Iksan Ten Million Chrysanthemum Festival" attracted about 760,000 visitors, while the "Mahan Cultural Expo" drew approximately 23,000 people. Other events such as the Pet Festival, Stone Culture Festival, Treasure Hunt Festival, and Iksan Book Festival also attracted both citizens and tourists, revitalizing the local commercial districts.
Meanwhile, the cumulative Dairo-um issuance from January to October this year has reached 376.7 billion KRW, and it is expected to surpass 450 billion KRW by the end of the year. This is anticipated to help revive the sluggish domestic market and provide substantial support for increasing small business sales.
A city official stated, "Last month, the Citizens' Harmony Festival and Chrysanthemum Festival brought vitality across the entire region," adding, "We will continue to implement consumption stimulation measures linked to Dairo-um to achieve a tangible recovery of the local economy that citizens can feel."
