The city has promoted various activities every year during Seollal and Chuseok holidays to expand online sales channels for local agricultural and specialty products, including issuing discount coupons, providing shipping fee support, and holding special exhibitions.

During this year’s Chuseok holiday, both consumers and farmers experienced inconvenience as the shopping mall was unable to operate for a certain period due to an unexpected fire at a government agency’s computer network.

To address consumer inconvenience and expand sales opportunities for local farmers and specialty product processing companies, the city will extend the event period until the 30th, reissue discount coupons, and hold special exhibitions to provide benefits such as discounts of up to 20 percent, thereby offering customers another chance to enjoy the benefits missed during the holiday period.

Mayor Choi Kyungsik said, “We sincerely apologize to consumers and farmers who experienced inconvenience due to the computer network failure,” adding, “By extending the campaign period, we will broaden the sales channels for Namwon’s agricultural and specialty products and ensure that consumers can once again enjoy these benefits.”
