This project is a government initiative in collaboration with private medical institutions, aiming to improve the quality of tuberculosis patient treatment and management. The goal is to increase treatment success rates and reduce tuberculosis-related deaths.

The evaluation, which targeted public health centers and medical institutions nationwide, was organized to share the achievements of tuberculosis management projects and to explore further development strategies. Siheung City was also selected as an outstanding institution in the relevant evaluation in 2023.

This year, the city conducted more than 39,000 chest X-ray screenings and sputum tests. When tuberculosis cases occurred, the city contributed to blocking the spread of the disease through systematic and proactive family contact investigations and epidemiological surveys in group facilities.

For vulnerable groups, such as those in care facilities, the city implemented latent tuberculosis infection screening projects. In addition, the city strengthened its "one-stop system" for early detection, treatment, and follow-up management by providing mobile screenings for middle school students in grades 8 and 9 (who are excluded from regular school health checkups), as well as home-visit tuberculosis screening services for seniors aged 65 and older, homeless individuals, and foreigners.

A city official stated, "Tuberculosis is a major infectious disease that requires management in the local community," and added, "We will continue to protect citizens' health by strengthening mobile screenings, family contact investigations, and epidemiological surveys in group facilities, especially for vulnerable populations."
