Previously, the lighting fixtures on the gymnasium's athletics track and walking paths had been in place for over 30 years, which not only detracted from the surrounding landscape but also failed to provide uniform brightness, increasing the risk of safety accidents.
The city replaced 89 lighting fixtures and installed 9 additional ones, ensuring sufficient illumination so that residents can safely enjoy various leisure activities such as running and walking even in the evening hours.
Additional lighting fixtures were installed in areas with high public use, including the marble plaza, walking paths, outdoor exercise facilities, and around water supply facilities. The city also addressed the issue of insects entering the existing lighting fixtures, thereby enhancing maintenance efficiency.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "We will continue to improve sports facilities and expand living environment infrastructure so that all citizens can comfortably enjoy their leisure time anytime and anywhere."
