Selected as One of the 2025 Hit Products Best 30
Cumulative Sales Reach 7 Million Packs in Japan
Nongshim announced on November 5 that Shin Ramyun Tomba has been selected as one of the "2025 Hit Products Best 30" by the Japanese business magazine Nikkei Trendy. This marks the first time a Korean ramen has ever been chosen for this list.
Nikkei Trendy is a monthly magazine published by Nikkei Inc., and is recognized as a leading source for identifying consumer trends in Japan. In particular, its annual "Hit Products Best 30," released at the end of each year, is known as an indicator for evaluating brand influence in the Japanese consumer market, based on factors such as sales performance and innovation of products and services launched in Japan over the past year.

Nikkei Trendy described Shin Ramyun Tomba as "a product that has gained popularity among young people even in Japan, which is often called the kingdom of instant ramen." The magazine noted, "Its spicy cream flavor and chewy texture provide a high level of satisfaction, and many young Japanese consumers find it appealing because it is a microwavable cup noodle, which is rare in Japan."
Nongshim officially launched Shin Ramyun Tomba cup noodles in Japan this April through Seven-Eleven, the country's leading convenience store chain. The product received an explosive response, with the initial shipment of one million units selling out within just two weeks. Starting in September, Nongshim expanded the lineup to include bag noodles, and the product is now sold nationwide at the top three convenience store chains in Japan: Seven-Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson. Since its launch, cumulative sales of the brand have reached approximately seven million packs.
A Nongshim representative stated, "The unique spicy flavor of Shin Ramyun Tomba has gained tremendous popularity in Japan, the birthplace of ramen, and as a result, it has become the first Korean ramen to be selected as a hit product." The representative added, "We will continue to grow Shin Ramyun as a global brand that leads the tastes and cultures of consumers around the world through its diverse appeal."
