Mapo District Holds Relay Town Hall Meetings Across 11 Major Commercial Areas Including Hapjeong and Yeonnam-dong

Mayor and Merchants Discuss Current Issues Through Open Communication

Mapo District in Seoul (Mayor Park Kangsoo) will sequentially hold the 'Mapo 11 Major Commercial Areas Relay Town Hall Meeting' at key locations and symbolic sites within the 11 major commercial districts from November 4 to November 20.

Mapo District Holds Relay Town Hall Meetings Across 11 Major Commercial Areas Including Hapjeong and Yeonnam-dong Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo District, is responding to questions from merchants in the Hapjeong Sky Road commercial area. Provided by Mapo District Office.

This town hall meeting is designed for the mayor and public officials to visit commercial areas in person, listen to the opinions of merchant representatives and merchants, share current issues specific to each district, and explore ways to revitalize these commercial zones.


The first session, held for the Hapjeong Sky Road commercial area, took place on November 4 at a restaurant in the Hapjeong Food Alley. The Hapjeong Sky Road commercial area is known for its cluster of trendy cafes and unique restaurants along the Han River, as well as its abundance of historical and cultural resources, making it a popular destination for young people.


During the town hall meeting, there was a presentation on the current status and ongoing projects of the 11 major commercial areas, followed by a Q&A session with merchants on topics such as utilizing the Han River location, marketing, and strengthening merchant capabilities. Attendees read the 'Mutual Growth Pledge Declaration' and held a 'Relay Flag Ceremony for Mutual Growth,' reaffirming their commitment to the development and cooperation of local commercial districts.


The town hall meetings will continue on November 6 at Yeonnam Kkirikkiri-gil, Yeomni·Daehung Forest Road; November 10 at Dohwa Flower Road and Yonggang Taste Street; November 11 at Red Road; November 17 at Mangwon World Cup Market Bangwollae-gil; November 18 at Mangwon Market Mangridan-gil; November 19 at Ahyeon Gullebang-gil; and on November 20 at Mapo Agricultural and Marine Products World Cup-gil and Sangam Taste Street.


Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo District, stated, "Each of the 11 major commercial areas in Mapo has its own unique character and charm," and added, "We will continue to communicate with merchants to develop a Mapo-style commercial area revitalization model."
