Nara Space Confirmed to Load Satellite on NASA's "Artemis II"

Official Announcement from the White House
KOSDAQ Listing Planned for the Second Half of the Year

The ultra-small satellite developed with the participation of domestic space startup Nara Space Technology (Nara Space) will be officially loaded onto the Artemis II, NASA's crewed lunar exploration spacecraft.

On October 29, the White House announced in an official statement that "a Korean satellite will participate in the Artemis II mission to carry out near-Earth space radiation measurement." This marks the first time a Korean satellite will accompany a NASA crewed lunar exploration spacecraft.

Artemis II, scheduled for launch in April next year, will be the first crewed lunar mission in 50 years since Apollo 17 in 1972. The project is being carried out through international cooperation involving the United States, Canada, Europe, and others.

For this mission, Nara Space is providing comprehensive system support under the leadership of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, including the main body manufacturing, environmental testing, launch preparation, and post-launch operational support for the radiation observation CubeSat 'K-RadCube.' The satellite will observe the space radiation environment in high Earth orbit (HEO) and has passed high-risk certification procedures, including NASA safety standards and thermal runaway tests.

Nara Space is leveraging its experience participating in the NASA project to strengthen its international cooperation capabilities within the space industry. Recently, at 'Seoul ADEX 2025,' the company showcased surveillance and reconnaissance solutions based on ultra-small satellites, highlighting the potential for expansion into the defense sector. The optical cluster satellite 'Observer,' satellite image analysis utilizing super-resolution technology, and space situational awareness solutions are also attracting significant attention in the defense field.

Meanwhile, Nara Space is pursuing a listing on KOSDAQ in the second half of the year through a technology-special listing. The company plans to continue its growth based on a multi-dimensional portfolio, including participation in NASA's Artemis II and defense solutions based on ultra-small satellites.
