Dongmyung University Receives Plaque of Appreciation from Busan Namgu District Office for Contributions to Spreading Local Sports Culture

Dongmyung University (President Lee Sangcheon) received a plaque of appreciation from the Busan Namgu District Office for its contribution to close cooperation with the local community and the spread of sports culture.

On November 4, Dongmyung University announced, "On this day, at the office of the head of the Busan Namgu District Office, we were awarded a plaque of appreciation in recognition of our achievements in community cooperation and public activities."

This award is the result of the university being highly recognized for its various public cooperation activities carried out together with the local community, including the promotion of youth sports, participation in local festivals, and the operation of social contribution programs.

The event was attended by Oh Euntaek, Mayor of Namgu District, Lee Sangcheon, President of Dongmyung University, Won Hyeongjin, Head of the K-Sports Taekwondo Department, and other officials.

President Lee Sangcheon stated, "Dongmyung University is establishing itself as an institution that grows together with the local community and fulfills its public role," adding, "We will further strengthen our cooperation with the Namgu District Office and take the lead in spreading sports culture and nurturing young talent."

The K-Sports Taekwondo Department at Dongmyung University has consistently promoted various social contribution projects in collaboration with the Namgu District Office, such as performances at local festivals, Taekwondo experience events for youth, and volunteer activities. These efforts are regarded as exemplary cases of returning the university's expertise to the local community, while also providing students with practical, experience-based learning opportunities.

With this award as a turning point, Dongmyung University plans to further strengthen its identity as a "community cooperation-centered university" and accelerate efforts not only to spread sports culture but also to establish a foundation for global cultural exchange in the future.
