Lee Woonik Appointed CEO of Samyang Corporation... Samyang Group Replaces Affiliate CEOs

Appointments Moved Up by One Month Compared to Previous Years
Internal Executives with Deep Group Understanding Promoted
Two External Executives Recruited to Drive Organizational Innovation

Lee Woonik, CEO of Samyang Innochem, has been appointed as the new CEO of Samyang Corporation. In addition, Ahn Taehwan, Head of Sales and Marketing, has been named CEO of Samyang KCI, and Oh Seunghoon, former CEO of TmaxBI, has been appointed CEO of Samyang Datasystem.

On November 4, Samyang Group announced an organizational restructuring and regular executive appointments. The company explained that it moved up the timing of these appointments by one month compared to previous years in order to enhance execution and proactively respond to the rapidly changing business environment.

For this round of appointments, Samyang Group promoted internal candidates and recruited external experts. Three executives who have grown within the group were appointed as CEOs of affiliates to ensure stable business operations, while two external experts were brought in to strengthen organizational innovation.

Lee Woonik, the newly appointed CEO, will also serve as Head of Chemical Group 1, overseeing chemical material affiliates such as Samyang Innochem, Samyang Hwasung, Samyang Fine Technology, and Samnam Petrochemical, leading the group’s overall chemical business. He joined Samyang Corporation in 1992 and is a seasoned industry veteran, having served as Head of the Vietnam EP subsidiary and CEO of Samnam Petrochemical. Samyang Group plans to officially appoint Lee as CEO at the regular shareholders’ meeting in March next year.

Yoon Seokhwan, the new appointee, is a strategist who previously served as Head of Future Strategy at Samyang Holdings, and plans to focus on enhancing the competitiveness of the PET container and aseptic (sterile filling) businesses. Ahn Taehwan, who joined Samyang Corporation in 1999, has led the growth of the cosmetics and personal care business as Head of Strategic Marketing and Head of Sales and Marketing at Samyang KCI. Oh Seunghoon, formerly of IBM Korea, has been appointed CEO of Samyang Datasystem, which oversees the group’s IT services.
